A new project that will take you on a journey to heal polarization.

A healing bridge
At a time when the culture seems hopelessly fractured across several polarized categories (left/right, life/choice, secular/religious, etc.), the idea of finding a way to cultivate dialogue across those boundaries is more important than ever.
Magenta is a new book series that will take you on a journey to heal divisiveness and polarization. The series name (Magenta) signals its resistance to the “blue-state vs. red-state” mode of thinking which has become so dominant in our politics, our Christian churches and in the broader culture. The Magenta project brings together authors who will treat important topics from the standpoint of Christian conviction without being trapped in a polarized mindset.

Books in the Magenta Series:
The issues

Justice and Peace

Science and Medicine

Intergenerational relationships

Faith and Church Life
Bold Christian voices outside of the echo chambers
A community-based project
This series will be more than a series of books. It will be a cultivated community of authors which meets in person for a retreat or other event for prayer, dialogue, and good-old-fashioned fun. In doing so we will not only model the broad goals of the series itself, but these embodied encounters—coupled with dialogue and prayer—will help us uncover more about the school of thought and action that God is working to create through us.
A cross-platform adventure
This intellectual and dialogical community will from the outset also include readers. Through podcasts, websites, webinars—and constantly on the lookout for new forums—the Magenta Series host a distinct “place” of encounter, carrying forward in a fresh way the mission of the New City Press, always on the lookout for new and creative ways to create a culture of unity and dialogue.
