No Thorn Without a Rose
The book of light that God is writing in my soul has two aspects: A luminous page of mysterious love: Unity. A luminous page of mysterious suffering: Jesus forsaken. They are two faces of the same coin.
(Chiara Lubich, 30 March 1948)
In these few inspired words, Chiara expresses clearly the fundamental elements of her spirituality, a spirituality of unity, of communion, which has touched the lives of millions of people in every corner of the world. May the selections chosen for this book inspire many to follow the call to love within every human heart and to open themselves to the reality of being the one family of one Father: God.
